Bischof Thomas Paprocki, Bischof Kevin Rhoades und Pater Thomas Ferguson werden einem Beirat f\u00fcr die Kommission f\u00fcr Religionsfreiheit von Pr\u00e4sident Donald Trump beitreten, wie aus einer Erkl\u00e4rung des Wei\u00dfen Hauses<\/a>.<\/p>\n

hervorgeht. Die drei katholischen Geistlichen werden sich Erzbischof Salvatore J. Cordileone aus San Francisco<\/a> im Beirat religi\u00f6ser F\u00fchrungspers\u00f6nlichkeiten f\u00fcr die Kommission anschlie\u00dfen. Zwei Mitglieder der kirchlichen Hierarchie \u2013 Kardinal Timothy Dolan von der Erzdi\u00f6zese New York und Bischof Robert Barron von der Di\u00f6zese Winona-Rochester, Minnesota \u2013 sind bereits Mitglieder der Kommission<\/a> hinausging.<\/p>\n

Rhoades, der Bischof von Fort Wayne-South Bend, Indiana, leitet das Komitee f\u00fcr Religionsfreiheit der US-Bischofskonferenz. Er sagte, er sei auch besorgt dar\u00fcber, \u201ewohin sich dieses Land in Bezug auf In-vitro-Fertilisation [IVF] entwickelt\u201c, und merkte an, dass es einige Politiker gebe, die \u201esich selbst als lebenssch\u00fctzende Gesetzgeber bezeichnen [obwohl] sie Bef\u00fcrworter von IVF sind.\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201eMan muss auch das menschliche Leben sch\u00fctzen \u2026 das durch IVF entstanden ist\u201c, sagte Ferguson und erinnerte an die Millionen menschlicher Embryonen<\/a> die durch den IVF-Prozess zerst\u00f6rt werden.<\/p>\n

Ferguson diskutierte ein neues Gesetz im Bundesstaat Washington, das zur Verhaftung von Priestern f\u00fchren wird<\/a> wenn sie Kindesmissbrauch nicht melden, von dem sie w\u00e4hrend des Sakraments der Vers\u00f6hnung erfahren, was das \u201eabsolute Beichtgeheimnis [der] \u2026 sakramentalen Beichte\u201c verletzen w\u00fcrde.<\/p>\n

Die Kommission f\u00fcr Religionsfreiheit<\/h2>\n

Zus\u00e4tzlich zu dem aus Geistlichen bestehenden Beirat hat das Wei\u00dfe Haus auch einen Beirat aus Rechtsexperten sowie einen weiteren aus Laienvertretern geschaffen. Diese Gremien werden die Kommission bei der Erstellung ihres Abschlussberichts unterst\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n

Die Kommission und ihre Beir\u00e4te umfassen Mitglieder verschiedener Religionen, darunter Katholizismus, Orthodoxie, Protestantismus, Islam und Judentum.<\/p>\n

Der Bericht wird die aktuellen Bedrohungen der Religionsfreiheit in den Vereinigten Staaten darlegen und Strategien aufzeigen, wie rechtlicher Schutz gew\u00e4hrleistet werden kann, wenn Rechte angegriffen werden. Er wird zudem das Fundament der Religionsfreiheit in den USA erl\u00e4utern und Leitlinien dazu geben, wie das Bewusstsein f\u00fcr den historisch friedlichen religi\u00f6sen Pluralismus im Land gest\u00e4rkt werden kann. <\/p>\n

Zu den Schwerpunkten der Kommission geh\u00f6ren Gewissensschutz, Meinungsfreiheit f\u00fcr religi\u00f6se K\u00f6rperschaften, institutionelle Autonomie, Angriffe auf Gottesh\u00e4user, Elternrechte in der Bildung und Schulwahlfreiheit.<\/p>\n

Trump setzte die Kommission am 1. Mai durch eine Exekutivanordnung ein, die mit dem Nationalen Gebetstag zusammenfiel.<\/p>\n
