Das in Gro\u00dfbritannien ans\u00e4ssige Ordinariat wurde geschaffen, um Anglikanern einen Weg zu ebnen, in die volle Gemeinschaft mit der katholischen Kirche einzutreten.<\/p>\n<p>Bischof David Waller empfing seine Bischofsweihe am 22. Juni in der Westminster Cathedral in London, dem Gedenktag der englischen Heiligen John Fisher und Thomas More.<\/p>\n<p>Kardinal Victor Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez, Pr\u00e4fekt des vatikanischen Dikasteriums f\u00fcr die Glaubenslehre, spendete die Bischofsweihe. Ebenfalls an der Messe beteiligt waren Kardinal Vincent Nichols von Westminster sowie die Bisch\u00f6fe Stephen Lopes und Anthony Randazzo, die Leiter der anglikanisch-katholischen Ordinariate in den USA\/Kanada und im pazifischen Raum\/Australien.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend der Messe sprach Fern\u00e1ndez \u00fcber den \u201eSchatz\u201c der apostolischen Nachfolge der Kirche, die mit dem heiligen Petrus und den Aposteln begann und bis heute andauert, und sagte: \u201eWas ich von der Kirche empfangen habe, gebe ich nun an dich weiter.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Als Bischof wird Waller das Personalordinariat Unserer Lieben Frau von Walsingham leiten, das Pfarreien in ganz England, Schottland und Wales umfasst.<\/p>\n<p>Die Mitglieder des Ordinariats nehmen an einer Messe und einer liturgischen Tradition teil, die in der anglikanischen Patrimonie verwurzelt ist, w\u00e4hrend sie gleichzeitig in vollst\u00e4ndiger Einheit mit dem Papst und der katholischen Kirche stehen.<\/p>\n<p>Zusammen mit seinen Schwesterordinariaten in den USA\/Kanada und im pazifischen Raum\/Australien wurde das Ordinariat Unserer Lieben Frau von Walsingham 2011 von Papst Benedikt XVI. durch seine Apostolische Konstitution <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/benedict-xvi\/en\/apost_constitutions\/documents\/hf_ben-xvi_apc_20091104_anglicanorum-coetibus.html\" target=\"null\" class=\"null\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><em>Anglicanorum Coetibus<\/em><\/a>. gegr\u00fcndet. Obwohl das Ordinariat f\u00fcr Katholiken aller Hintergr\u00fcnde offen ist, existiert es in erster Linie als Weg f\u00fcr ehemalige Anglikaner, in die katholische Kirche aufgenommen zu werden, w\u00e4hrend sie viele ihrer englischen Traditionen und Praktiken beibehalten.<\/p>\n<p>W\u00e4hrend die Ordinariate in den USA und Australien ihre eigenen Bisch\u00f6fe haben, von denen keiner ein ehemaliger Anglikaner war, ist Waller der erste Bischof, der das Ordinariat in Gro\u00dfbritannien leitet. Zuvor wurde das Walsingham-Ordinariat von Monsignore Keith Newton geleitet, einem ehemaligen Anglikaner, der in der katholischen Kirche zum Priester geweiht wurde, aber aufgrund seiner Ehe nicht zum Bischof geweiht werden konnte. Der 72-j\u00e4hrige Newton geht in den Ruhestand.<\/p>\n<p>Die Entscheidung des Vatikans, den Leiter des Ordinariats in Gro\u00dfbritannien zum Bischof zu ernennen, wurde weithin als Signal der Unterst\u00fctzung und des Vertrauens aus Rom gewertet.<\/p>\n<p>In einem Interview mit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucanews.com\/news\/british-bishops-historic-ordination-shows-romes-strong-support\/105513\" target=\"null\" class=\"null\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">OSV News<\/a>, sagte Waller, dass es zwar Ger\u00fcchte gab, \u201eRom w\u00fcrde unser Ordinariat aufl\u00f6sen\u201c, aber er betonte, dass \u201edies nie die Haltung des Heiligen Stuhls war, der immer unterst\u00fctzend und f\u00fcrsorglich war.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Nach der Weihe am Samstag teilte das Walsingham-Ordinariat in einer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ordinariate.org.uk\/organisation\/ordinary.php\" target=\"null\" class=\"null\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Stellungnahme.<\/a> auf seiner Website mit, dass \u201ees eine gro\u00dfe Ehre ist, dass Papst Franziskus einen unserer eigenen Priester zum zweiten Ordinarius ernannt hat, was sein Engagement f\u00fcr die unter <em>Anglicanorum Coetibus<\/em> durch seinen Vorg\u00e4nger errichteten Ordinariate zeigt.\u201c<\/p>\n<h2>Vom anglikanischen Priester zum katholischen Bischof<\/h2>\n<p>Der 63-j\u00e4hrige Waller trat 1992 in das anglikanische Priesteramt ein, konvertierte 2011 zur katholischen Kirche und wurde im selben Jahr zum Priester geweiht. Bevor er die Leitung des Walsingham-Ordinariats \u00fcbernahm, diente er als dessen Generalvikar.<\/p>\n<p>Nachdem er drei Empfehlungen vom Verwaltungsrat des Ordinariats erhalten hatte, gab Papst Franziskus am 29. April bekannt, dass er Waller zum neuen Leiter des Ordinariats ernenne.<\/p>\n<p>Das Walsingham-Ordinariat war das erste von drei weltweit, das Einfluss auf die Wahl seines Leiters hatte.
