Ihre Mission wurzelt in der Befreiungstheologie und konzentriert sich auf wirtschaftliche, \u00f6kologische, rassische und soziale Gerechtigkeit.<\/p>\n<p>Das Ministerium f\u00fcr Innere Sicherheit (DHS), das die ICE betreibt, lehnte wiederholte Antr\u00e4ge auf Spendung der Sakramente in der Einrichtung in Broadview ab, auch als Geistliche versuchten, den Einwanderungsh\u00e4ftlingen an Weihnachten die Kommunion und seelsorgerische Betreuung zu bringen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDie ganze Welt hat die Ungerechtigkeiten unseres f\u00f6deralen Einwanderungssystems gesehen\u201c, sagte Pater Leandro Foss\u00e1, CS, ein Mitglied des CSPL-Geistlichenrates, in einer Erkl\u00e4rung.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eWir sind gespannt darauf, wie die Bundesregierung auf die einstweilige Verf\u00fcgung reagiert und die grundlegenden religi\u00f6sen Rechte der Menschen in Haft auf seelsorgerische Besuche wiederherstellt \u2013 Rechte, die zuvor respektiert wurden\u201c, sagte er.<\/p>\n<p>Die Anordnung besagt, dass die Regierung die Religionsaus\u00fcbung der Geistlichen erheblich belastet hat und dass kein zwingendes staatliches Interesse besteht, diese Belastung zu rechtfertigen. Der Richter berief sich auf den Religious Freedom Restoration Act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDen Kl\u00e4gern zu erlauben, Migranten und H\u00e4ftlinge seelsorgerisch zu betreuen, wird die Bedingungen der in Broadview Inhaftierten verbessern\u201c, hei\u00dft es in der Anordnung des Richters. <\/p>\n<p>Der Richter ordnete an, dass die Regierung das Aschenkreuz und die Kommunion am Aschermittwoch gestatten und sich mit der CSPL abstimmen muss, um ein angemessenes Sicherheits- und Schutzprotokoll zu erstellen. Die Anordnung weist sie zudem an, sich zu treffen und \u00fcber zuk\u00fcnftige religi\u00f6se Dienste in der Einrichtung zu beraten.<\/p>\n<p>Pater Dan Hartnett, SJ, Mitglied des CSPL-Geistlichenrates, \u00e4u\u00dferte die Hoffnung, dass dieses Urteil einen Trend setzen wird.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDie kollektiven Stimmen und das gl\u00e4ubige Zeugnis von Katholiken und Christen in Chicago und im ganzen Land zeigen Wirkung\u201c, sagte er. \u201eZu Beginn der Fastenzeit beten wir, dass dieses Urteil die Religionsfreiheit f\u00fcr die Inhaftierten wiederherstellt und unser Land der Gerechtigkeit bei der Wahrung der W\u00fcrde aller Migranten n\u00e4her bringt.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Papst Leo XIV. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewtnnews.com\/vatican\/pope-leo-xiv-says-spiritual-needs-of-migrants-deserve-attention\">sagte im November 2025<\/a> die spirituellen Rechte von Migranten in Haft m\u00fcssen ber\u00fccksichtigt werden.<\/p>\n<p>Laut einer Erkl\u00e4rung der CSPL wartet die gemeinn\u00fctzige Organisation auf eine Antwort der ICE bez\u00fcglich der Koordinierung der Gottesdienste am Aschermittwoch.
