El Papa Le\u00f3n XIV ha nombrado a la hermana Tiziana Merletti como secretaria del Dicasterio para los Institutos de Vida Consagrada y las Sociedades de Vida Apost\u00f3lica.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la Oficina de Prensa del Vaticano, la religiosa consagrada de 66 a\u00f1os se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 anteriormente como superiora general de las Hermanas Franciscanas de los Pobres durante nueve a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Reportar\u00e1 directamente a otra monja, la hermana Simona Brambilla, a quien el Papa Francisco nombr\u00f3 en enero como prefecta del departamento vaticano, responsable de todos los asuntos relacionados con el gobierno, la disciplina, los estudios, los bienes, los derechos y los privilegios de los institutos de vida consagrada.<\/p>\n

Nacida el 30 de septiembre de 1959 en Pineto, en la provincia italiana de Teramo, Merletti hizo su primera profesi\u00f3n religiosa en 1986 en el Instituto de las Hermanas Franciscanas de los Pobres. Posee un t\u00edtulo en derecho civil de la entonces Libera Universit\u00e0 Abruzzese degli Studi \u201cGabriele d\u2019Annunzio\u201d en Teramo (1984) y obtuvo su doctorado en derecho can\u00f3nico en 1992 en la Pontificia Universidad Lateranense de Roma.<\/p>\n

De 2004 a 2013, se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como superiora general de su congregaci\u00f3n. Actualmente, Merletti es profesora en el departamento de derecho can\u00f3nico de la Pontificia Universidad Antonianum en Roma y colabora como abogada can\u00f3nica con la Uni\u00f3n Internacional de Superioras Generales, la organizaci\u00f3n que representa a las religiosas de vida apost\u00f3lica en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n
