El obispo Michael Duca ha concedido una dispensa de la asistencia a la Misa dominical a los inmigrantes que temen la deportaci\u00f3n en la Di\u00f3cesis de Baton Rouge, la cuarta di\u00f3cesis estadounidense en hacerlo.<\/p>\n

La noticia de la dispensa llega en medio de una mayor presencia de agentes del Servicio de Inmigraci\u00f3n y Control de Aduanas (ICE) en Luisiana como parte de la operaci\u00f3n \u201cSwamp Sweep\u201d de la administraci\u00f3n Trump, la cual ha sido reportada<\/a> como una operaci\u00f3n que incluye el despliegue de 250 agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza en la regi\u00f3n y planes para arrestar a 5,000 personas en Luisiana y Misisipi.<\/p>\n

\u201cCon la reciente y publicitada llegada de agentes del Servicio de Inmigraci\u00f3n y Control de Aduanas (ICE) al sur de Luisiana y al \u00e1rea metropolitana de Baton Rouge, y dado que muchos de los fieles temen genuinamente las acciones de control migratorio, lo que hace insostenible para ellos asistir a Misa los domingos y d\u00edas de precepto, por la presente concedo una dispensa de la obligaci\u00f3n de asistir a Misa para aquellos cat\u00f3licos que leg\u00edtimamente temen participar en la Misa debido a su miedo\u201d, dijo Duca \u201ccon el coraz\u00f3n apesadumbrado\u201d en una carta pastoral<\/a> fechada el 4 de diciembre.<\/p>\n

El obispo de Baton Rouge dijo que la dispensa permanecer\u00eda vigente \u201chasta que el cat\u00f3lico individual determine que es seguro asistir a Misa de nuevo\u201d o hasta que la dispensa sea revocada. <\/p>\n

Duca instruy\u00f3 a los fieles que elijan quedarse en casa de acuerdo con la dispensa a reunirse como familia para orar el domingo. \u201cLeer las lecturas de la Misa diaria, rezar el rosario o recitar una novena por protecci\u00f3n intercesora son pr\u00e1cticas espirituales alternativas adecuadas para quienes aceptan esta dispensa\u201d, dijo. <\/p>\n

Duca se une a los obispos<\/a> de las di\u00f3cesis de San Bernardino, California; Nashville, Tennessee; y Charlotte, Carolina del Norte<\/a>, al conceder dicha dispensa en 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cLa seguridad nacional y la protecci\u00f3n de la dignidad humana no son incompatibles\u201d, continu\u00f3 Duca en su carta, pidiendo \u201cuna soluci\u00f3n justa a esta dif\u00edcil situaci\u00f3n en nuestro pa\u00eds\u201d. Se\u00f1al\u00f3 que los esfuerzos de deportaci\u00f3n han afectado no solo a la comunidad cat\u00f3lica hispana, sino tambi\u00e9n a refugiados e inmigrantes de todas las denominaciones. \u201cEstos son nuestros vecinos, compa\u00f1eros de trabajo y feligreses\u201d, dijo.<\/p>\n

El obispo concluy\u00f3: \u201cPor ahora, oremos por aquellos afectados directamente, especialmente durante este tiempo de Adviento, un tiempo en el que deber\u00edamos estar anticipando la alegr\u00eda de la Navidad, rodeados por nuestra familia en celebraci\u00f3n en lugar de experimentar ansiedad y miedo\u201d.<\/p>\n
