\u00ab Dieu existe-t-il ? : Le cri de l'homme en qu\u00eate de salut \u00bb est le titre d'un nouveau livre d'entretiens du cardinal Robert Sarah, pr\u00e9fet \u00e9m\u00e9rite de la Congr\u00e9gation \u2014 d\u00e9sormais Dicast\u00e8re \u2014 pour le Culte divin et la Discipline des sacrements.<\/p>\n

Dans le livre <\/a>publi\u00e9 en italien fin 2024, le cardinal africain r\u00e9pond \u00e0 diverses questions pos\u00e9es par le journaliste David Cantagalli et explique que le texte \u00ab na\u00eet d'une tentative de r\u00e9pondre aux questions de l'\u00e9diteur... qui, avec un z\u00e8le apostolique authentique \u00bb, a voulu poser des \u00ab questions difficiles \u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00ab J'ai cherch\u00e9 les r\u00e9ponses dans mon histoire personnelle et dans mon c\u0153ur, dans le magist\u00e8re de l'\u00c9glise et dans celui des papes qui ont marqu\u00e9 ma vie, et, enfin et surtout, dans le dialogue fructueux avec des amis, des pr\u00eatres et des la\u00efcs, qui vivent une passion authentique pour le Christ et pour l'\u00c9glise, t\u00e9moignant dans le monde de celui qu'ils ont rencontr\u00e9 \u00bb, \u00e9crit Sarah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dans une r\u00e9cente interview accord\u00e9e \u00e0 Il Timone <\/a>en Italie et rapport\u00e9e par Religion en Libertad<\/a>, le cardinal a expliqu\u00e9 pourquoi c'est l'homme et non Dieu qui est \u00ab mort \u00bb en Occident : \u00ab L'Occident traverse une profonde crise identitaire et anthropologique dans laquelle l'homme, dans sa v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et sa beaut\u00e9, semble ne plus \u00eatre conscient de sa dignit\u00e9 et de sa vocation au bonheur, \u00e0 l'accomplissement de son \u00eatre personnel. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Le cardinal a \u00e9galement not\u00e9 qu'\u00ab il est \u00e9vident que tout cela a des racines lointaines, commen\u00e7ant par la substitution de l'\u00ab amo ergo sum \u00bb (\u00ab J'aime, donc je suis \u00bb) augustinien par le \u00ab cogito ergo sum \u00bb (\u00ab Je pense, donc je suis \u00bb) cart\u00e9sien, r\u00e9duisant ainsi l'ontologie relationnelle \u00e0 la conscience de soi subjective, privant l'homme de cette relation saine avec la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 sur laquelle est fond\u00e9e l'ontologie, la connaissance de son propre \u00eatre. \u00bb<\/p>\n

La crise de la foi<\/h2>\n

Sarah a averti qu'il existe en fait une crise de la foi dans le monde d'aujourd'hui et qu'elle est d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 son point \u00ab le plus profond et le plus crucial \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Quant \u00e0 ceux qui donnent leur vie \u00e0 Dieu, il a soulign\u00e9 que \u00ab je ne dirais pas que les personnes consacr\u00e9es \u00ab ne croient pas \u00bb ; je suis plut\u00f4t convaincu que, pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment en raison des conditions culturelles d\u00e9favorables \u00e0 la radicalit\u00e9 de la virginit\u00e9 pour le royaume des cieux, ceux qui r\u00e9pondent \u00e0 la vocation aujourd'hui ont une intention initiale s\u00e9rieuse et radicale. \u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab Le point le plus discut\u00e9 est celui de la fid\u00e9lit\u00e9, dans le temps, \u00e0 la t\u00e2che que Dieu a confi\u00e9e. Dans un contexte culturel de plus en plus hostile, avec la fragmentation des relations, qui ne nous permet pas de percevoir le soutien et la chaleur d'une communaut\u00e9 croyante, il est de plus en plus complexe de vivre la radicalit\u00e9 de l'\u00c9vangile. Je crois que c'est le point crucial pour tous les la\u00efcs et les personnes consacr\u00e9es, pour tous les baptis\u00e9s. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Concernant ceux qui quittent l'\u00c9glise catholique, le cardinal africain a d\u00e9plor\u00e9 que \u00ab ceux qui partent font toujours une erreur. Ils font une erreur parce qu'ils abandonnent [leur] M\u00e8re ; ils font une erreur parce qu'ils commettent un acte d'orgueil tr\u00e8s dangereux, se posant en juges de l'\u00c9glise. \u00bb<\/p>\n

\u00ab Parfois, tout n'est pas imm\u00e9diatement compr\u00e9hensible, et certaines choses peuvent sembler compl\u00e8tement inappropri\u00e9es, pas ad\u00e9quatement consid\u00e9r\u00e9es, voire pastoralement infond\u00e9es ou nuisibles ; malgr\u00e9 tout cela, cela ne les autorise pas \u00e0 partir. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Qui est le cardinal Robert Sarah ?<\/h2>\n

Sarah, 79 ans, est l'un des cardinaux les plus distingu\u00e9s d'Afrique et de l'\u00c9glise universelle. Il est un fervent d\u00e9fenseur de la liturgie, du droit \u00e0 la vie, de la famille et de la libert\u00e9 religieuse. Le 15 juin, lorsqu'il aura 80 ans, il ne sera plus cardinal-\u00e9lecteur pour un \u00e9ventuel conclave visant \u00e0 \u00e9lire le successeur du pape.<\/p>\n

Il a critiqu\u00e9 l'id\u00e9ologie du genre, une approche qui consid\u00e8re le genre comme une construction socioculturelle plut\u00f4t que comme identique au sexe biologique. <\/p>\n

En 2018, lors du Synode des \u00e9v\u00eaques sur les jeunes, il a soulign\u00e9 que \u00ab diluer \u00bb la doctrine morale catholique dans le domaine de la sexualit\u00e9 ne r\u00e9ussira pas \u00e0 attirer les jeunes.<\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9fet de la Congr\u00e9gation \u2014 d\u00e9sormais Dicast\u00e8re \u2014 pour le Culte divin et la Discipline des sacrements sous les pontificats de Beno\u00eet XVI et du pape Fran\u00e7ois.<\/p>\n

Il est l'auteur de livres tels que \u00abDieu ou rien : Entretien sur la foi<\/a>\u00bb, \u00abLa Force du silence<\/a>\u00bb, \u00abLe soir approche et d\u00e9j\u00e0 le jour baisse<\/a>\u00bb, et \u00abDes profondeurs de nos c\u0153urs<\/a>\u00bb, ce dernier \u00e9crit avec le pape Beno\u00eet XVI.<\/p>\n
