Le pape L\u00e9on XIV a nomm\u00e9 l'\u00e9v\u00eaque Mark Rivituso, auxiliaire de Saint-Louis, archev\u00eaque m\u00e9tropolitain de Mobile, en Alabama.<\/p>\n

Rivituso succ\u00e8de \u00e0 l'archev\u00eaque Thomas Rodi, qui dirigeait l'archidioc\u00e8se de Mobile depuis 2008. Rodi a soumis sa lettre de d\u00e9mission au pape Fran\u00e7ois en mars 2024 apr\u00e8s avoir atteint l'\u00e2ge de 75 ans.<\/p>\n

L'archev\u00eaque \u00e9lu a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le 1er juillet qu'il \u00e9tait reconnaissant envers le pape L\u00e9on pour sa nomination et qu'il se sentait b\u00e9ni de succ\u00e9der \u00e0 Rodi en tant que \u00ab bon pasteur \u00bb pour l'archidioc\u00e8se.<\/p>\n

L'archev\u00eaque \u00e9lu a re\u00e7u sa cons\u00e9cration \u00e9piscopale et a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 auxiliaire de l'archidioc\u00e8se de Saint-Louis et titulaire de Turuzi en 2017. <\/p>\n

Ordonn\u00e9 pr\u00eatre pour l'archidioc\u00e8se de Saint-Louis en 1988 apr\u00e8s avoir termin\u00e9 sa formation au s\u00e9minaire au Cardinal Glennon College et au Kenrick Seminary, Rivituso a servi dans plusieurs paroisses \u00e0 travers la ville. <\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 vicaire paroissial de Saint-Ambroise \u00e0 Saint-Louis de 1988 \u00e0 1990, de l'Immacul\u00e9e Conception \u00e0 Dardenne Prairie de 1990 \u00e0 1993, et de Saint-J\u00e9r\u00f4me \u00e0 Bissell Hills de 1996 \u00e0 2004. Entre 2008 et 2013, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 cur\u00e9 de la paroisse du Cur\u00e9 d'Ars \u00e0 Shrewsbury.<\/p>\n

Au sein de l'archidioc\u00e8se de Saint-Louis, Rivituso a \u00e9t\u00e9 enseignant au lyc\u00e9e St. Dominic \u00e0 O'Fallon de 1988 \u00e0 1993, administrateur de Sainte-Marguerite d'\u00c9cosse de 1993 \u00e0 1994, membre du tribunal m\u00e9tropolitain de 1993 \u00e0 1994 et de 1996 \u00e0 2004, vicaire judiciaire du tribunal de deuxi\u00e8me instance de 2005 \u00e0 2011, et vicaire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du tribunal de 2011 \u00e0 2018.<\/p>\n
