N\u00e9e il y a 61 ans dans une famille musulmane en Turquie, Belk\u00c4\u00b1z \u00e9tait la premi\u00e8re fille apr\u00e8s deux gar\u00e7ons. Enfant, elle allait \u00e0 la mosqu\u00e9e et lisait le Coran en arabe, mais dit ne pas l'avoir compris. Apr\u00e8s avoir lu des livres de philosophie mat\u00e9rialiste dans sa jeunesse, elle est devenue ath\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge de 15 ans.<\/p>\n

Belk\u00c4\u00b1z (dont le nom de famille est gard\u00e9 secret pour des raisons de confidentialit\u00e9) a confi\u00e9 \u00e0 ACI Mena, le partenaire d'information en langue arabe de CNA, qu'apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu son dipl\u00f4me universitaire, elle est devenue professeure de litt\u00e9rature et lisait constamment. \u00c0 l'\u00e2ge de 28 ans, elle a lu le livre de Turan Dursun, \u00ab Ceci est la religion \u00bb. (Dursun, un ancien musulman chiite et \u00e9rudit devenu ath\u00e9e, a \u00e9t\u00e9 assassin\u00e9 en raison de ce qu'il a \u00e9crit sur l'islam et la religion. <\/em>Son livre <\/em>critique les livres religieux \u2014 principalement le Coran.)<\/p>\n

Belk\u00c4\u00b1z ne pouvait pas croire ce qu'elle lisait, alors elle a achet\u00e9 un Coran en turc et l'a lu. La Bible a suivi \u2014 elle en a achet\u00e9 une \u00e0 la Foire du livre d'Izmir et a \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9e \u00e0 regarder un film dans une \u00e9glise protestante sur la vie de J\u00e9sus, bas\u00e9 sur l'\u00c9vangile selon Luc.<\/p>\n

Regarder ce film a compl\u00e8tement chang\u00e9 sa fa\u00e7on de penser \u00e0 Dieu. L'histoire biblique qui l'a le plus touch\u00e9e est celle de la pri\u00e8re du collecteur d'imp\u00f4ts et du pharisien au Temple. Elle y a vu son propre p\u00e9ch\u00e9. Car, comme le pharisien, elle \u00e9tait si confiante dans sa propre justice qu'elle a ressenti sa premi\u00e8re honte devant Dieu. <\/em>\u00ab Aimez vos ennemis \u00bb <\/em>est devenu son guide. \u00c0 la fin du film, Belk\u00c4\u00b1z a pri\u00e9 de tout son c\u0153ur : \u00ab Seigneur, s'il te pla\u00eet, entre dans ma vie, je laisse ma vie entre tes mains, fais de moi ce que tu veux ! \u00bb<\/p>\n

Par la suite, elle est all\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e9glise protestante chaque dimanche, a lu la Bible r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement et a toujours assist\u00e9 aux r\u00e9unions de pri\u00e8re. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 baptis\u00e9e et a v\u00e9cu heureuse dans une relation vivante avec Dieu. <\/p>\n

Puis, un dimanche lors d'un service religieux en 2005, une jeune personne prenant le pain et le vin \u00e0 la table du Seigneur a pris le pain, a mis la cro\u00fbte dans sa bouche et a press\u00e9 l'int\u00e9rieur du pain dans la paume de sa main. Lorsque Belk\u00c4\u00b1z a vu cela, elle s'est sentie mal \u00e0 l'aise car elle avait l'impression que le corps du Seigneur avait \u00e9t\u00e9 bless\u00e9. Elle en a parl\u00e9 \u00e0 un ami protestant. Elle raconte qu'il lui a dit que ce n'\u00e9tait pas grave car \u00ab ce n'est pas vraiment le corps du Seigneur, nous le faisons en m\u00e9moire ; les catholiques croient vraiment que c'est le corps du Christ \u00bb.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s cela, elle a cherch\u00e9 l'\u00c9glise catholique et est catholique depuis lors.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Je n'ai pas choisi Dieu, c'est lui qui m'a choisie \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Belk\u00c4\u00b1z. \u00ab Ce qui m'impressionne le plus dans le christianisme, c'est l'amour infini du Seigneur J\u00e9sus pour nous. J'ai trouv\u00e9 mon meilleur ami et mon plus bel amour. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Lorsqu'on lui a demand\u00e9 si elle avait peur de la pers\u00e9cution en tant que chr\u00e9tienne, elle a souri : \u00ab Lorsque J\u00e9sus a \u00e9t\u00e9 trahi, son disciple Pierre a reni\u00e9 J\u00e9sus trois fois. Parce qu'il avait peur. Mais ce m\u00eame Pierre, apr\u00e8s avoir re\u00e7u l'Esprit Saint, a r\u00e9pandu l'\u00c9vangile de J\u00e9rusalem \u00e0 l'Italie et, alors qu'il allait \u00eatre crucifi\u00e9, il a dit : \u201cJe ne suis pas digne de mourir, Seigneur\u201d, et a \u00e9t\u00e9 crucifi\u00e9 [la t\u00eate en bas]. \u00bb<\/p>\n

Belk\u00c4\u00b1z a \u00e9galement d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que ce qu'elle a gagn\u00e9 dans son cheminement de foi se trouve directement dans la Bible : \u00ab Le fruit de l'Esprit, c'est l'amour, la joie, la paix, la patience, la bont\u00e9, la bienveillance, la foi, la douceur, la ma\u00eetrise de soi \u00bb (Gal 5, 22-23).<\/p>\n

\u00ab Dieu nous offre \u00e0 tous un tr\u00e9sor. Tout ce que nous avons \u00e0 faire, c'est de l'accepter \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Belk\u00c4\u00b1z. \u00ab Et Dieu prouve son amour envers nous en ceci : alors que nous \u00e9tions encore p\u00e9cheurs, le Christ est mort pour nous \u00bb (Rom 5, 8).<\/p>\n
