Op het feest van de Heilige Familie opende kardinaal Baldassare Reina de Heilige Deur in de Basiliek van Sint-Jan van Lateranen in Rome, de derde dergelijke ceremonie sinds paus Franciscus op kerstavond het Jubeljaar 2025 inluidde.<\/p>\n

Reina, de vicaris van paus Franciscus voor het bisdom Rome, omschreef de gebeurtenis als \u201ceen gebaar dat onze geloofsbelijdenis in Christus vernieuwt.\u201d <\/p>\n

De ceremonie op 29 december vond plaats tijdens een plechtige mis die werd bijgewoond door families, priesters en pelgrims van over de hele wereld.<\/p>\n

In zijn homilie benadrukte de kardinaal de symboliek van de Heilige Deur en zei: \u201cDeze deur, nu wijd opengezet, heeft ons niet alleen naar het huis van de Heer geleid, maar ook naar de diepten van zijn hart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kardinaal roept op tot steun voor gezinnen<\/h2>\n

Reflecterend op de uitdagingen waar gezinnen voor staan, pleitte Reina voor meer maatschappelijke steun. \u201cGezinnen die moeilijkheden en lijden ervaren, moeten centraal staan in de aandacht van degenen die verantwoordelijk zijn voor het maatschappelijk leven en adequate steun ontvangen voor een waardiger toekomst,\u201d drong hij aan, waarbij hij het belang van gezinnen benadrukte als \u201ceen getuigenis van een gedeelde missie\u201d en \u201cdringend in onze tijd.\u201d<\/p>\n

Het feest van de Heilige Familie zorgde voor wat de kardinaal een \u201cprovidentieel toeval\u201d voor de gebeurtenis noemde.<\/p>\n

Hij omschreef de Heilige Familie van Nazareth als \u201chet model van elke huiselijke gemeenschap en spiegel van de trinitarische gemeenschap.\u201d<\/p>\n

De ceremonie op zondag markeerde de derde Heilige Deur die in Rome werd geopend voor het Jubeljaar 2025, na de openingen in de Sint-Pietersbasiliek en de Rebibbia-gevangenis.<\/p>\n

Er staan nog twee Heilige Deuren gepland om in de komende dagen te worden geopend: de Basiliek van Santa Maria Maggiore op 1 januari en de Basiliek van Sint-Paulus buiten de Muren op 5 januari.<\/p>\n

Herinnering van paus Franciscus<\/h2>\n

De Heilige Deuren dienen als spirituele drempels waar pelgrims doorheen gaan, wat hun reis naar bekering en vernieuwing symboliseert.<\/p>\n

Bezoekers komen aan bij de Sint-Pietersbasiliek om door de Heilige Deur te gaan die paus Franciscus op kerstavond opende, waarmee het jubeljaar officieel begon. In zijn kersttoespraak herinnerde de Heilige Vader de gelovigen: \u201cDe deur van Gods hart staat altijd open; laten we naar hem terugkeren. Laten we terugkeren naar het hart dat van ons houdt en ons vergeeft.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vooruitblik: Jubeljaar van de Hoop<\/h2>\n

De Katholieke Kerk biedt de gelovigen kansen voor spirituele vernieuwing en groei tijdens dit bijzondere heilige jaar.<\/p>\n

Een belangrijk aspect van het jubeljaar is de kans om een volledige aflaat te verkrijgen, een genade die de tijdelijke straf voor zonden wegneemt, beschikbaar door aan de vereiste voorwaarden te voldoen, waaronder het passeren van een Heilige Deur.<\/p>\n

Het Jubeljaar 2025, officieel getiteld het Jubeljaar van de Hoop, zal tal van belangrijke evenementen omvatten. Onder hen zijn de heiligverklaringen van de zalige Carlo Acutis tijdens het Jubeljaar van de Tieners op 27 april en de zalige Pier Giorgio Frassati tijdens het Jubeljaar van de Jongeren op 3 augustus.<\/p>\n
