{"id":79617,"date":"2026-03-09T18:45:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T18:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/christianpure.com\/?p=79617"},"modified":"2026-03-09T18:45:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T18:45:22","slug":"cuban-exiles-sign-freedom-accord-for-cuba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianpure.com\/nl\/learn\/cuban-exiles-sign-freedom-accord-for-cuba\/","title":{"rendered":"Cubaanse ballingen ondertekenen vrijheidsakkoord voor Cuba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cubaanse ballingen in Miami, onder leiding van Rosa Mar\u00eda Pay\u00e1, oprichtster van \u201cCuba Decides\u201d en dochter van de overleden oppositieleider Oswaldo Pay\u00e1, ondertekenden op 2 maart wat zij een \u201cAkkoord voor Bevrijding\u201d van Cuba noemen, een stappenplan in 10 punten om \u201cdemocratie en de rechtsstaat\u201d op het eiland te herstellen.<\/p>\n<p>Oswaldo Pay\u00e1 kwam in 2012 om bij een auto-ongeluk dat alle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewtnnews.com\/world\/americas\/us-asks-for-investigation-into-cuban-dissidents-death\">kenmerken had van een door de staatsveiligheidsdienst in sc\u00e8ne gezet ongeval.<\/a> <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/i\/web\/status\/2028685083956089298?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2028685083956089298%7Ctwgr%5E3df72dc083cd304a7a7a063dbdb4c0420b9cf968%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aciprensa.com%2Fnoticias%2F122727%2Fcubanos-en-el-exilio-firman-un-historico-acuerdo-de-liberacion-para-cuba\">Tweet<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Het document, ondertekend in de Father Varela Hall van het National Shrine of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre (de patrones van Cuba) in Miami, draagt de handtekeningen van de coalities Cuban Resistance Assembly en Steps for Change, respectievelijk geleid door Orlando Guti\u00e9rrez-Boronat en Rosa Mar\u00eda Pay\u00e1, samen met diverse oppositieorganisaties binnen en buiten Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>De tekst stelt dat het werd ondertekend \u201cmet geloof in God, ge\u00efnspireerd door de oprichtingsidealen en waarden van de Cubaanse natie en het Akkoord voor Democratie,\u201d een document gepubliceerd op 20 februari 1998, dat eveneens 10 punten vastlegt voor een vreedzame overgang naar democratie.<\/p>\n<p>Het Akkoord voor Bevrijding schetst vier fasen voor de transitie: bevrijding, stabilisatie, wederopbouw en democratisering van het land, evenals de \u201contmanteling van de criminele onderneming die de Communistische Partij van Cuba is, evenals de ontmanteling van al haar repressieve mechanismen en organisaties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Het geeft ook prioriteit aan de vrijlating van politieke gevangenen en benadrukt de noodzaak om \u201cde humanitaire catastrofe te be\u00ebindigen en onmiddellijk in de basisbehoeften te voorzien, waarbij een beperkte overgangsperiode wordt gestart die leidt tot vrije verkiezingen, gedurende welke het land zal worden bestuurd door een voorlopige regering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZodra de termijn van de voorlopige regering is verstreken, zullen er algemene verkiezingen worden gehouden: de eerste vrije, eerlijke en meerpartijenverkiezingen van Cuba\u2019s nieuwe republikeinse tijdperk,\u201d benadrukt de tekst, waarbij alle Cubanen worden aangemoedigd om zich bij dit streven aan te sluiten.<\/p>\n<h2>Pay\u00e1: \u2018De enige uitweg uit de crisis is het einde van de dictatuur\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Tijdens de presentatie van het Akkoord voor Bevrijding in Miami zei Pay\u00e1: \u201cVandaag promoten wij het democratische alternatief voor de barbarij die ons land regeert. Vandaag weten we dat de enige uitweg uit de crisis het einde van de dictatuur is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn het is urgent omdat het menselijk lijden van onze familie, het menselijk lijden van ons volk op het eiland op dit moment brutaal is. De stroomuitval duurt dagen, er zijn geen medicijnen in de ziekenhuizen, er is geen voedsel in de winkels,\u201d verklaarde zij.<\/p>\n<p>Pay\u00e1 wees erop dat de Cubaanse bevolking tussen 2021 en 2024 met 1,6 miljoen mensen is afgenomen, inclusief Cubanen die zijn overleden als gevolg van de crisis die door het Cubaanse regime is veroorzaakt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCubanen eisen vrijheid en de protesten op het eiland gaan dagelijks door. Het netwerk van oppositieorganisaties op het eiland groeit, ondanks het feit dat ze onder extreme omstandigheden opereren,\u201d zei ze.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens de afdeling Global Affairs van de Universiteit van Navarra hebben sinds 2021 meer dan 1 miljoen mensen Cuba verlaten vanwege de economische crisis en de toegenomen repressie van burgerprotesten in dat jaar; en volgens het Nationaal Bureau voor Statistiek en Informatie van Cuba zijn er tussen 2021 en 2024 zo'n 480.000 mensen op het eiland overleden.<\/p>\n<h2>De rol van de Verenigde Staten<\/h2>\n<p>Een paar dagen geleden zei de Amerikaanse president Donald Trump dat zijn regering in gesprek was met Cuba. \u201cMisschien krijgen we een vriendschappelijke overname van Cuba,\u201d vertelde de president aan verslaggevers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCuba is, op zijn zachtst gezegd, een mislukte natie. Op dit moment is het echt een land met ernstige problemen en ze willen onze hulp,\u201d voegde hij eraan toe. Trump deed deze uitspraken nadat hij op 29 januari een blokkade van olietransporten naar het eiland had bevolen, wat heeft geleid tot een ernstig brandstoftekort. <\/p>\n<p>Ondertussen verklaarde het hoofd van de Amerikaanse diplomatieke missie in Havana, Mike Hammer, eind februari in een interview met \u201cEWTN Noticias\u201d, de Spaanstalige uitzending van EWTN News, dat Cuba zich op een cruciaal moment bevindt en dat het land binnenkort <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewtnnews.com\/world\/americas\/cuba-will-soon-achieve-the-freedom-it-hasnt-had-in-67-years-says-us-diplomat-in-havana\">\u201cde vrijheid zal bereiken die het in 67 jaar niet heeft gehad.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hammer zei dat \u201cer op hoog niveau uitwisselingen zijn met mensen binnen het Cubaanse regime\u201d evenals \u201cgesprekken om te zien wat er gedaan kan worden om het land een nieuwe richting in te sturen\u201d die een overgang naar democratie mogelijk zou maken.<\/p>\n<p>ACI Prensa, de Spaanstalige zusterdienst van EWTN News, heeft contact opgenomen met het kantoor van het aartsbisdom Miami, onder leiding van aartsbisschop Thomas Wenski, voor commentaar op de volgende stappen met betrekking tot Cuba, maar heeft nog geen reactie ontvangen.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dit verhaal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aciprensa.com\/noticias\/122727\/cubanos-en-el-exilio-firman-un-historico-acuerdo-de-liberacion-para-cuba\">werd voor het eerst gepubliceerd <\/a>door ACI Prensa, de Spaanstalige zusterdienst van EWTN News.
