(Luke 1:26). 8<\/p>\n<p>But it's important to know that the Bible itself never directly calls Gabriel an \"archangel.\" 8 The belief that Gabriel is an archangel is very strong in our Christian tradition, and that\u2019s a beautiful thing! But it comes more from later writings and interpretations, including some non-biblical Jewish texts like the Book of Enoch, rather than from a direct statement in the Bible.\u2078 The limited information in the Bible might have actually encouraged later writers and theologians to explore and define the angelic world more fully. If Scripture only gives glimpses, our God-given curiosity and desire for a more complete picture can lead to further development of these ideas in tradition.<\/p>\n<h3>Arcanjos no Antigo Testamento?
