Agentes federais est\u00e3o a investigar um incidente de vandalismo numa igreja na Diocese de Pittsburgh, segundo o Bispo Mark Eckman.<\/p>\n

Eckman said in uma declara\u00e7\u00e3o de 19 de julho<\/a> que a Igreja de Santa Isabel da Hungria em Pleasant Hills, Pensilv\u00e2nia, tinha sido profanada com \u201cmensagens anticat\u00f3licas e antissemitas\u201d. <\/p>\n

O vandalismo \u201cferiu n\u00e3o s\u00f3 as pessoas desta par\u00f3quia, mas todos os membros da nossa fam\u00edlia diocesana\u201d, disse o bispo. <\/p>\n

\u201cEste lugar sagrado, destinado \u00e0 ora\u00e7\u00e3o, \u00e0 comunidade e \u00e0 presen\u00e7a misericordiosa de Deus, foi violado de uma forma profundamente dolorosa\u201d, acrescentou. <\/p>\n

Agentes do Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) est\u00e3o a liderar a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o sobre o incidente, disse o bispo. <\/p>\n

Na segunda-feira, a diocese divulgou fotos do vandalismo<\/a> \u201ccom a esperan\u00e7a de que isso leve algu\u00e9m na comunidade a apresentar informa\u00e7\u00f5es que possam ajudar os investigadores a identificar os respons\u00e1veis\u201d.<\/p>\n

As imagens mostravam uma est\u00e1tua da Virgem Maria pintada com spray com uma Estrela de David, bem como uma porta marcada com graffiti e uma parede marcada com profanidades e uma su\u00e1stica.<\/p>\n

A diocese est\u00e1 \u201cde cora\u00e7\u00e3o partido com este ato de \u00f3dio\u201d, disse Eckman na segunda-feira, acrescentando que estava a exortar os fi\u00e9is a \u201c[rezar] por conforto e paz\u201d.<\/p>\n
