Those words come from Genesis 2:24 and Malachi 2:14, and Proverbs 31:10-31 adds a long portrait of a wife of noble character. The New Testament letters give wives and husbands instructions side by side (Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 3:18-19; 1 Peter 3:1-7). In each passage the instruction to wives is followed by one to husbands.
