Corrections

This is the public record of errors we have corrected on Christian Pure. If something on the site is wrong, tell us: name the page, what it says, and where you found the correct information.

What goes in this log

A claim that was wrong, a quotation that did not match its source, a source that did not say what we said it did, and any change to what a free tool or interactive piece reports. Changes of wording, layout and broken links are not listed.

The log begins in November 2026. Many older articles went through an earlier process with fewer checks, as our editorial standards explain, and we are rewriting them one at a time. Those rewrites are not listed one by one.

2026

November 8, 2026. Compare Christian Denominations. 554 of the tool’s 1,200 answers quoted our own articles instead of the churches. Each now quotes the church’s own document, or says that we found no official statement (23 answers). Checking them turned up mistakes in what we had said about several churches, the Salvation Army’s position on abortion among them; those answers now carry the church’s words.

November 8, 2026. What Did Jesus Mean by “It Is Finished”? We said that the Greek word tetelestai was written on ancient receipts to mean “paid in full.” The receipts usually cited carry a different word, the one for customs duty, and we found no papyrus where tetelestai marks a debt as paid. We corrected the article.
