The Readings and the Prayers

Lesson 14 of 15 · About 12 minutes

The Readings and the Prayers

Which Scripture and prayers belong in our wedding, and who chooses them?

Choose two or three readings from the passages the churches share, at least one of them about marriage itself, within whatever your church fixes; let the prayers ask God for what your vows cannot do on their own; and fit both into an order your minister will recognise.

The front cover of a small book worked in raised metal thread and coloured silk: in an oval frame King David, crowned and in a red cloak, plays a harp before a pink town, among embroidered flowers, birds and fruit.
