Pastore sudcoreano rilasciato di prigione

Pastor Hyun-Bo Son, arrested in September 2025 in South Korea, was released from prison this week.

International Christian Concern (ICC) has previously reported on Pastor Son’s controversial arrest. Pastor Son of Busan Segyeoro Church was charged with electioneering and interference with the electoral system for interviewing a candidate during a church service.

Pastor Son, who was arrested on Sept. 8, is facing the charges in part for allegedly interviewing an election candidate, Jeong Seung-yoon, during a church service and uploading a video of the conversation to social media. He also faces allegations of holding a “prayer service for victory” at Jeong’s campaign office and stating, “We must vote for the right-wing candidate and truly establish God’s kingdom.”

Pastor Son has been active in contending against government overreach, including serving as a leader of the “Save Korea” group, which campaigns against the current left-leaning South Korean president, prime minister, and Democratic Party, who are in power.

Pastor Son and his family continue to claim that his arrest was due to his strong stand on Christian and Biblical principles, including helping to mobilise two million people to oppose the proposed Comprehensive Anti-Discrimination Law, which critics say could criminalize preaching against homosexuality and restrict religious speech.

Pastor Son and his family believe his arrest was meant to stop and crush Christians and their views in South Korea. They will appeal his conviction.
