The Bible treats political power as something God gives and God judges. Rulers hold authority from God (Romans 13:1). Believers owe them taxes (Mark 12:17; Romans 13:7), honor (Romans 13:7; 1 Peter 2:17) and prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
