Dutch Prayer for a Hedge of Protection
When we feel threatened by the actions of others, we can ask God to build a spiritual wall of protection around us. This prayer is a plea for His divine safekeeping from those who intend to cause harm.
Heavenly Father, I come before You feeling vulnerable and exposed. I see the malice of those who set themselves against me, and I ask for Your supernatural protection. I pray that You would build a hedge of protection around me, my family, and all that You have given me. Let it be a spiritual wall so high that no enemy can climb over it, so deep they cannot tunnel under it, and so thick they cannot break through it.
Lord, command Your holy angels to stand guard over me. Shield my mind from fear and confusion, my heart from despair, and my spirit from every attack. Let anyone who comes against me be met not by me, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. Blind their eyes to my path, confuse their plans, and let their efforts fall to ruin. I choose to dwell in Your secret place, under the shadow of Your wings.
You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Let those who seek my downfall find that they are fighting against You, and let them be turned back in shame. Cover me, Lord, with your mighty hand, so that I may walk in peace and safety, fully confident in Your power to save and deliver. Keep me secure from all hidden dangers and evil intentions, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Trusting God for protection shifts our focus from fear to faith. We can be confident in His power to guard us, as Psalm 91:4 reminds us, “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.”
Prayer for Divine Justice to Prevail
Sometimes, we see wrongdoing go unpunished, and our hearts cry out for justice. This prayer is not for revenge, but a heartfelt plea for God’s perfect and righteous justice to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Almighty God, You are the righteous Judge of all the earth. My heart is heavy seeing the schemes and actions of the wicked go unchecked. They cause pain, create chaos, and oppress the innocent. I do not ask for personal vengeance, Lord, but I cry out for Your divine justice. I ask that You would arise and let Your righteousness flow like a mighty river.
Let the truth be brought into the light. Expose every lie, every corrupt deal, and every hidden motive. I pray that You would move in the hearts of those in authority to act with integrity and fairness. Where the law is silent or bent, let Your higher law prevail. Overturn the plans of those who profit from injustice and suffering.
Father, I place this situation entirely in Your hands. You see every tear and hear every cry. Let those who are causing harm face the consequences of their actions in a way that brings You glory. Let them be stopped, corrected, or removed according to Your perfect will and timing. Bring vindication for the oppressed and restore what has been broken by their evil deeds, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
When we pray for God’s justice, we are entrusting the outcome to the only One who is truly impartial and all-powerful. We find peace in knowing, as it says in Deuteronomy 32:4, “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.”
Prayer to Expose Hidden Schemes
Wickedness often thrives in secrecy. This prayer asks God to shine His revealing light into the darkness, uncovering the secret plans and hidden motives of those who seek to do evil, so their plans will fail.
Lord of Light, in whom there is no darkness at all, I come to You with a heavy heart over secret things done in the shadows. There are plots and schemes being formed against me and against what is good and right. Those who devise these things believe they are hidden, but nothing is hidden from Your sight.
I ask you, Father, to shine Your glorious light upon their plans. Expose every secret meeting, every deceitful word, and every wicked intention. Just as light sends cockroaches scattering, let Your truth send their schemes into chaos and confusion. Let their own words trap them, and let their own plans be their undoing. Bring their actions out into the open for all to see.
Let whistleblowers be emboldened, let evidence be uncovered, and let their masks of deception be torn away. Prevent their plans from ever coming to pass. Give me the wisdom and discernment to see what is happening and the strength to stand firm in the truth. I trust that you will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
By praying for exposure, we partner with God’s nature, which is to bring truth and light. We can rest in the promise of Luke 12:2, “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.”
Prayer to Silence Deceitful Tongues
Words can be weapons, used to spread lies, gossip, and slander that destroy reputations and sow division. This prayer is a plea for God to intervene and put a stop to the false and hurtful words of the wicked.
O Lord my God, you are a God of truth. I am distressed and wounded by the deceitful tongues of those who speak against me. Their gossip is like a venom, and their slander cuts deeply. They twist the truth and invent lies to damage my name and cause others to turn against me. Father, I ask You to intervene and silence these tongues.
I pray that You would stop their words in their tracks. Cause them to become confused and forget their lies. Let those who hear their slander be filled with a spirit of discernment, to recognize the falsehood and reject it. Put a guard over their mouths, Lord, and station a watch at the door of their lips. Turn their gossip into meaningless chatter that no one listens to.
- Let every lie they speak be exposed by the truth. Let their efforts to defame me only serve to reveal their own corrupt character. Protect my reputation, Lord, for it is in Your hands. Give me the grace not to retaliate, but to bless those who curse me, trusting You to be my defender. Uphold me with Your righteousness and let the truth be my shield, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
We must trust God to be our ultimate defender against slander. We can hold on to the comfort found in Psalm 31:18, which says, “Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.”
Prayer to Uproot Seeds of Bitterness
When we are wronged, it is easy for bitterness to take root in our hearts. This prayer is essential because it asks God to cleanse our own hearts so that we can approach the problem of wickedness without sinning ourselves.
Merciful Father, I confess that the actions of the wicked have hurt me deeply. The injustice and pain they have caused have planted seeds of anger, resentment, and bitterness in my heart. Lord, I don’t want these roots to grow and poison my soul. Before I can pray for their removal, You must first remove the wickedness from me.
I ask you to come into the garden of my heart with Your healing hands. Uproot every bitter root. Forgive me for holding onto unforgiveness and for letting their sin create sin in me. Wash me with the water of Your word and fill my heart with Your supernatural love and peace. Replace my desire for revenge with a desire for Your righteous justice.
Help me to see this situation through Your eyes. Give me a spirit of compassion, even for those who have wronged me, recognizing that they too are lost and broken. Let me release them to You for judgment and for mercy. Heal the wounds they have caused so that I can pray from a place of purity and strength, not from a place of pain, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
A clean heart is our most powerful spiritual asset. When we release bitterness, we make room for God to work. As Hebrews 12:15 warns, “See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble.”
Prayer for Strength and Courage
Facing wickedness can be frightening and exhausting. It can make us want to shrink back or give up. This prayer is for the divine strength and holy courage needed to stand firm in faith and not be intimidated by evil.
Lord of Hosts, the Commander of Heaven’s Armies, I feel weak and intimidated in the face of such opposition. The wickedness against me feels overwhelming, and fear tries to paralyze me. But I know that You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. I come to You now, asking for a fresh infusion of Your divine courage.
Strengthen my inner being, Lord. Fortify my resolve to stand for what is right, even if I have to stand alone. When I am tempted to be silent, give me the boldness to speak the truth in love. When I am tempted to run, help me to stand my ground, clothed in the armor You provide. Remind me that the battle is not mine, but Yours, and that You are always with me.
Let me not be shaken by their threats or discouraged by their actions. Instead, let my heart be steadfast, trusting in You. Fill me with the same courage that David had when he faced Goliath, knowing that the one who is with me is far greater than those who are against me. Let Your strength be made perfect in my weakness, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Our courage does not come from our own abilities, but from the presence of God Himself. We are called to be strong and courageous because, as God promised in Joshua 1:9, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Prayer to Break Ungodly Alliances
Sometimes, wicked people band together, forming alliances to increase their power and carry out their evil plans. This prayer asks God to sow discord and confusion among them, breaking their unity and causing their alliances to crumble.
God of Order, I see wicked people forming alliances and ungodly soul ties. They band together to plot, to deceive, and to oppress. Their unity is not from You, but is a bond of darkness designed to accomplish evil. I ask You, Lord, to step into their midst and bring division and confusion.
Let mistrust grow between them. Let their secrets be revealed to one another, causing suspicion and strife. I pray that you would turn them one against the other, so that their evil coalition falls apart from within. Let their communication become like the Tower of Babel, where no one understands the other. Let their shared greed and ambition become a source of their own downfall.
Expose the selfishness at the heart of their alliance, so that they can no longer trust each other. Break every ungodly spiritual tie that binds them together. Dismantle their evil network piece by piece, until they are scattered and their collective power is neutralized. Let them be so consumed with their own disputes that they forget their agenda against me, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
When evil people unite, we can pray for their “team” to be broken up by the God who opposes the proud. We can be confident, as it says in Psalm 35:26, that those who conspire against us will be “clothed with shame and disgrace.”
Prayer to Overturn Curses and Evil Words
Negative words, declarations, and even curses spoken by others can feel like a heavy weight upon our spirit. This prayer asks God to cancel and overturn every evil word, replacing it with His divine blessing and purpose.
Almighty Father, I come under the authority of Jesus Christ, who became a curse for me on the cross. I stand against every negative word, every idle curse, and every evil declaration that has been spoken against me, my family, or my destiny. Words of failure, sickness, division, and defeat have no place in my life, because I belong to You.
Lord, I ask that You would render these words powerless. Let them fall to the ground, null and void. By the power of the blood of Jesus, I break their influence over my mind, my emotions, and my circumstances. Where they have cursed, I ask You, Father, to release a blessing. Where they have spoken destruction, I ask You to release restoration and life.
Turn every curse into a blessing, just as you did for your people in the Old Testament. Let the very things they intended for my harm be the things You use for my promotion and for Your glory. Let their evil intentions backfire upon their own heads. I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment, I will condemn, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
We have authority in Christ to nullify the power of negative words. Our identity is in Him, not in the opinions or curses of others. As Proverbs 26:2 says, “Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.”
Prayer for the Wicked to Be Turned Back
When it feels like evil is advancing and gaining ground, we can pray for God to intervene and stop it. This is a prayer for God to halt the progress of the wicked, to frustrate their plans, and to turn them back in defeat.
O Lord, my Shield and my Defender, the enemy is pressing in. It feels as though the plans of the wicked are advancing and succeeding. But I stand on your word that promises You will be a shield for me. I ask that You would rise up and push back the darkness. Be a wall of fire against those who are moving against me.
Let their forward progress be stopped supernaturally. I pray that You would confuse their sense of direction. Let them get lost on the path they have chosen to harm me. Cause them to stumble and fall, and to be turned back in sudden shame and disarray. Frustrate their efforts and make their journey hard.
Let every step they take against me be a step that leads them further from their goal. Let them meet with failure at every turn, until they abandon their pursuit. Lord, contend with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Be my rear guard and my vanguard. Let them retreat in confusion, realizing they are fighting against a child of the Most High God, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
We can confidently ask God to defend us and to stop the advance of our enemies. This is the cry of the psalmist in Psalm 40:14, “May all who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.”
Prayer for Their Repentance or Removal
This prayer holds two possibilities in tension: God’s mercy and His justice. We pray first for the wicked to have a change of heart and repent, but if they refuse, we ask God to remove them from their position of influence.
Heavenly Father, You are a God of great mercy, who desires that no one should perish, but that all should come to repentance. My first prayer for those who act in wickedness is that You would grant them a new heart. Open their eyes to the pain they are causing. Break their pride and bring them to their knees in genuine sorrow for their sins.
Lord, I release them to You. Show them the cross and the love of Jesus. Let Your kindness lead them to repentance. However, Father, if they harden their hearts, if they refuse Your mercy, and if they continue to be a source of destruction, oppression, and pain, then I ask You to remove them.
Remove them from their position of influence. Remove them from my path. Remove their power to do harm. Let their seat of authority be given to someone righteous and just. I trust Your perfect wisdom to know which path to take—the path of mercy or the path of removal. Your will be done, not mine. I surrender the outcome entirely to You, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
This prayer aligns our hearts with God’s, desiring mercy first but ultimately trusting Him to bring justice. We see this principle in Psalm 109:8, where the prayer for an unrepentant enemy is, “May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership.”
Prayer for Restoration of Peace
After a season of conflict and spiritual warfare, our greatest need is for peace. This prayer asks God to restore a sense of tranquility, wholeness, and well-being to our hearts, minds, and circumstances after the turmoil has passed.
Prince of Peace, I have been through a battle. My heart has been troubled, and my spirit has been in turmoil because of the assaults of the wicked. The conflict has stolen my peace and filled my days with anxiety. Now, Lord, I ask for Your divine restoration. I ask for Your shalom peace to settle over my life once more.
Quiet my anxious thoughts and still my racing heart. Smooth over the rough places in my emotions that have been agitated by this struggle. Where there has been chaos, bring Your divine order. Where there has been fear, bring Your perfect love that casts out all fear. Let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus.
Restore the joy of my salvation and the tranquility of my home. Let me rest securely in the knowledge that You are in control and have handled the situation. Let a new season of quietness and confidence begin right now. I breathe in Your peace and breathe out all the stress of the battle, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Peace is a gift from God, promised to us even in the midst of a troubled world. We are invited to claim it, as Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.”
Prayer to Release Vengeance to God
Our human instinct is to seek revenge when we are wronged, but God’s way is higher. This final, crucial prayer is an act of surrender, entrusting all judgment and vengeance into the capable and just hands of God Himself.
Sovereign Lord, my heart has been tempted to seek its own revenge. I have felt the burn of injustice and have wanted to see those who harmed me pay for what they have done. But I know that vengeance is not mine to take. Your word is clear that vengeance belongs to You, and You will repay. So today, I make a conscious choice to release it all to You.
I take my hands off the situation. I release my right to be angry, my right to get even, and my right to see them punished on my terms. I place the injustice, the pain, and the offenders squarely in Your hands. You are the just Judge. You see everything, and You will settle the account perfectly, in Your time and in Your way.
Free me from the burden of carrying this. Help me to trust Your justice so completely that I am free to love, to forgive, and to move forward. I let go of all bitterness and desire for retaliation. I will not repay evil for evil, but I will trust You to defend my cause and bring about a righteous end, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
This act of surrender is one of the most freeing things a believer can do. It allows God to work and frees our hearts from a heavy burden, as instructed in Romans 12:19: “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
