What is the biblical definition of righteousness? At its core, biblical righteousness refers to the state of being in right relationship with God. It is, as our Jewish forebears understood, a covenantal concept. When we speak of God’s righteousness, we speak of His perfect faithfulness to His promises and His unwavering commitment to justice and love.
