Dutch Prayer for a Heart of Repentance

Rekindling our love for God is the essence of personal revival. In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus warns the church in Ephesus, “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.”

I want to long for You more than I long for comfort, more than I long for approval, and more than I long for my next meal.
Let the cry of my heart be, “More of You, Lord! Less of me.” I want to be so satisfied in You that the cheap thrills of this world lose their appeal. Fill me with an insatiable desire to know You more, to linger in Your presence, and to walk with You daily, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
When our greatest desire is God Himself, we are on the verge of a true spiritual awakening. Jesus made a beautiful promise to those who feel this longing in Matthew 5:6: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
