Resumo

  • Na Bíblia, o céu é frequentemente descrito como estando “acima” ou “no alto”, sugerindo um reino divino além da compreensão humana, mas não deve ser interpretado literalmente, uma vez que o céu trata mais da presença de Deus sendo tanto transcendente quanto próxima de nós.
  • A Bíblia apresenta o céu como tendo qualidades físicas e espirituais; embora existam descrições de um paraíso tangível, Jesus e outras escrituras enfatizam a sua realidade espiritual dentro de nós, apontando para uma compreensão mais complexa além do nosso mundo.
  • Ao longo da história cristã, as interpretações do céu variaram, com os primeiros Padres da Igreja e teólogos vendo-o como uma união mística entre o céu e a terra, enquanto a ciência moderna sugere que a natureza do céu pode escapar à nossa compreensão física.
