Versetti biblici sulle montagne — e cosa dice realmente il Salmo 121

  • Il Salmo 121:1 è una domanda piuttosto che un conforto: le colline ospitavano i santuari di altri dei, e il salmista risponde alla propria domanda altrove.
  • Isaia 54:10 e il Salmo 90:2 usano le montagne come la cosa più permanente che chiunque potesse nominare, per poterle sopravvivere.
  • Il Salmo 125:2 è letterale — Gerusalemme siede in un anello di colline — e Abacuc 3:19 conclude un libro iniziato con la lamentela che Dio non stava ascoltando.
  • Le scene decisive sono sulle montagne: Moriah, Sinai, Carmelo, il Discorso, la trasfigurazione. Matteo 17:20 promette una fede che sposta le montagne e 1 Corinzi 13:2 dice che non è nulla senza amore.
