- A hundred and twenty has no symbolic meaning in Scripture, but it marks three widely separated moments.
- Genesis 6:3 sets “a hundred and twenty years,” read either as a limit on human life or as a countdown to the flood. The text does not settle it.
- Deuteronomy 34:7 records Moses dying at a hundred and twenty, “yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone” — the detail of someone who knew him.
- Acts 1:15 counts about a hundred and twenty believers between the ascension and Pentecost. Three thousand were added the next day.
- Seven, forty, twelve and three carry meaning because the text builds it by repeated use. A hundred and twenty is a lifespan, an age and a headcount.
