  • 120という数字には聖書的な象徴的意味はないが、大きく隔たった3つの瞬間を記している。
  • 創世記6章3節は「120年」を定めている。これは人間の寿命の限界とも、洪水までのカウントダウンとも解釈できる。本文では結論が出ていない。
  • 申命記34章7節には、モーセが120歳で亡くなった際、「目はかすまず、力も失せていなかった」と記されている。これは彼を知る者による詳細な記述である。
