17 Bible Verses About Focus

  • Hebrews 12:2’s “looking to” Jesus translates aphorao, which Strong’s glosses as “to fix one’s eyes upon.”
  • Psalm 27:4, Luke 10:42 and Philippians 3:13 each turn on “one thing”: a request, a choice and a pursuit.
  • Luke 10:40 says Martha was “distracted with much serving”, using perispao, to be pulled away or over-occupied.
  • Proverbs 4:23-27 moves from the heart to the mouth, the eyes and the feet, and Joshua 1:7 gives the same warning against turning to the right or the left.
