  • Genesis 1:27 gives the image of God to male and female alike, and Genesis 9:6 gives that image as the reason human life is protected.
  • Jesus compares human worth with sparrows in Matthew 10:31 and with the birds God feeds in Matthew 6:26.
  • Deuteronomy 7:7-8 says God chose Israel when they were “the fewest of all peoples,” because he loved them and kept his oath.
