Prayers for Your Husband’s Work: A Job, an Interview, a Hard Day and His Safety



  • Ten short prayers let a wife pray for her husband at the start of a working day, while he looks for a job, before an interview, when work goes badly, in a dangerous job, when he is worn out, for honesty, for money, before a decision and in thanks.
  • The 1928 Book of Common Prayer’s “For Every Man in his Work” (p. 44) and a family prayer “In the Morning” (p. 594) are quoted in full.
  • “A Wife’s Prayer” in the 1888 Catholic Manual of Prayers asks God to help her “soothe him in perplexity” and “refresh him in weariness.”
  • Genesis 39 says the LORD made Joseph prosper as a slave and a prisoner; Daniel 6 records that Daniel’s rivals could find “none occasion nor fault” in his work.
  • Pope Pius XII instituted the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker on 1 May 1955.
  • Deuteronomy 18:10–11 and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (2117) reject spells and charms, which many Russian searches ask for.
