Heavenly Father,

I ask that you would guard our going out and our coming in. Protect us on the roads, in our workplaces, and in our homes. Shield us from harm, from accidents, and from the schemes of the enemy. Guard our hearts from fear and our minds from anxiety about what could go wrong.
Place your angels around us and be a hedge of protection about us. More than just physical safety, I pray for spiritual protection. Guard us from temptation and help us to stand firm in our faith. We put our trust not in our own caution, but in Your constant, powerful care, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Joy is a fruit of the Spirit, a supernatural gladness that is rooted in our relationship with God, not our situation. It is our strength. Nehemiah 8:10 states, “…for the joy of the Lord is your strength,” reminding us that this joy empowers us for daily life.

Pride closes us off from God and others, making us think we have all the answers. This prayer is a request for humility, which opens our hearts to learn, grow, and receive the grace God gives to the humble.
Most High God,
You are holy and majestic, yet You are near to the lowly in spirit. Forgive me for my pride, for the times I think I know best, for the times I resist correction, and for the times I rely on my own strength instead of Yours. I want to walk in humility before You and others today.
