Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of gratitude. Thank you for the breathtaking beauty of this nation, Canada. From the rugged shores of the Atlantic to the peaceful Pacific coast, from the vast, open prairies to the majestic Rocky Mountains, Your creative hand is on display. We are so thankful for this land.
We thank You for the relative peace and safety we enjoy. We thank You for the freedom to speak, to gather, and to worship You without fear. These are precious gifts, Lord, and we do not want to take them for granted. Forgive us for the times we have forgotten that every good and perfect gift comes from You.
Fill our hearts with a lasting spirit of thankfulness. Help us to be a people known not for our complaining, but for our gratitude. May our thankfulness lead to generosity and a desire to share our blessings with others, both here and around the world. We bless Your holy name for Your goodness to us. In every city and town, there are people who are suffering in silence. They are the lonely, the addicted, the homeless, and the mentally ill. This is a prayer that God’s love would break through their pain and that we would be His hands and feet.

History shows that God can change the heart of a nation. This is our humble and desperate prayer, holding to the promise that “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

In an uncertain world, our ultimate security is found not in our own strength, but in taking refuge in God Almighty. We declare our trust in Him confidently, saying “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust’” (Psalm 91:1-2).
Prayer for Canada’s God-Given Purpose
Every person has a purpose, and we believe every nation does too. This is a prayer for Canada to discover and walk in its unique, God-given calling among the nations of the world.
King of all nations, you set the boundaries of countries and you give them their purpose in Your grand story. We ask you to reveal and fulfill your divine purpose for the nation of Canada. What have you called us to be? What have you called us to do in the world?

Raise up leaders and citizens who have a vision for what Canada can be in You. Use our resources, our skills, and our people to be a blessing to the nations and to bring glory to Your name. May we walk in the calling You have placed upon us and be a shining light for all the world to see, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
A nation’s true greatness is found in its moral and spiritual character. Let us pray that Canada would pursue the things that honor God, for we know that “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
