In our loneliness, God’s promise to be with us is a powerful comfort. We can hold onto the truth of Deuteronomy 31:8: “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Christian hope looks forward to a new heaven and a new earth where all things are made new. This prayer expresses a hope that in God’s restored creation, we will see our beloved animal companions again.
God of Hope and all Redemption,
My heart longs for the day when all things will be made new, as You have promised. You are a God of restoration, who will one day wipe away every tear and put an end to all death and suffering. In that hope, I hold a special place for my beloved animal companion.
While the Bible is quiet on this, my heart hopes to see my faithful friend again. I pray that in Your glorious new creation, a world restored to perfection, the beautiful and innocent bonds we shared with our pets will also be restored.
