Summary
- Short prayers cover a grown son’s protection, hard times, work or job search, loneliness, marriage and children, faith, anger, distance, estrangement and big decisions, with a mother’s prayer.
- Scripture records parents praying for grown children: Job offered sacrifices for his sons after their feasts (Job 1:5), and David asked God to “give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart” (1 Chronicles 29:19).
- Traditional prayers are quoted from the 1888 Catholic Manual of Prayers (“I commend my children unto Thee”) and the 1928 Book of Common Prayer (“For a Birthday,” “For Those We Love”).
