Prayers for Family Problems: Peace, Healing and Keeping a Family Together

  • Short prayers cover a family that is fighting: after an argument, relatives not speaking, rivalry between brothers and sisters, broken trust, a family that has split apart and tension at home.
  • Further prayers cover trouble from outside: money, illness, safety, a relative who has left the faith and a parent who needs wisdom.
  • The 1928 Book of Common Prayer’s “For a Blessing on the Families of the Land” asks God to put away “every root of bitterness” and echoes Psalm 68:6 and Malachi 4:6.
