Short prayers for when you are asked to pray aloud.
A prayer for a meal
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak … as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:4. The picture: El Greco, Pentecost, about 1600, Museo del Prado.
Prayer 1 of 6About 25 seconds aloud
Father, thank you for this food and for the people around this table. Bless the one who cooked it and the ones who will wash up. Help us listen to each other tonight. “Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith” (Proverbs 15:17). Amen.
