Dreaming About a Specific Man Does Not Mean He Is Thinking of You

  • Dreaming about a particular man does not mean he is thinking of you. Scripture says nothing of the kind and there is no mechanism for it.
  • The Bible records many dreams and interprets a handful, always through a named person for a specific matter. Joseph and Daniel both refuse the credit (Genesis 40:8; Daniel 2:27-28).
  • Dreams draw on what the mind has been handling, so frequency tracks attention — and the correlation runs from our thinking to the dream, not from his mind to ours.
  • That makes the dream evidence about where attention has been going, which is information most of us do not otherwise get.
  • Dreaming of someone who has died is common in bereavement and is not contact. James 1:5 offers wisdom without fault-finding; persistent distressing dreams deserve a doctor or counsellor.
