Resumo
- As ideias presbiterianas e calvinistas moldaram significativamente a teologia cristã, particularmente em áreas como a soberania de Deus, a depravação humana, a predestinação e a autoridade das Escrituras. Estes conceitos continuam a influenciar discussões teológicas em várias tradições cristãs.
- O sistema presbiteriano de governo por presbíteros influenciou a política eclesiástica para além das denominações presbiterianas tradicionais, promovendo conceitos de autoridade distribuída e de freios e contrapesos na liderança da igreja.
- A ênfase calvinista em envolver e transformar todas as áreas da vida para a glória de Deus inspirou o envolvimento cristão na educação, política, artes e reforma social, levando ao estabelecimento de instituições cristãs e a uma abordagem cristã distinta em vários campos.
- As tradições presbiteriana e calvinista moldaram as práticas de adoração cristã, enfatizando a participação congregacional e a centralidade das Escrituras.
