- Patron of
Felicity was a slave in Carthage and a catechumen, arrested in 203 with the young noblewoman Perpetua and their companions under the decree of Septimius Severus that forbade anyone to become a Christian. She was eight months pregnant, and since the law forbade the execution of pregnant women she feared she would not die beside the others, but two days before the games she gave birth to a daughter, whom a Christian woman took as her own. On 7 March she and Perpetua faced a wild cow in the amphitheatre, and after the martyrs gave one another the kiss of peace they were put to the sword.
