圣经中没有关于总统的梦的记载，也没有赋予其任何含义。在古代世界并没有总统。
圣经解释了两位统治者的梦——法老的和尼布甲尼撒的——在这两个例子中，上帝都是通过一位囚犯向统治者谈论他自己的统治。圣经从未解释过臣民关于统治者的梦。
统治者在上帝之下：“他改变时候、日期，废王，立王”（但以理书 2:21），并且“王的心在耶和华手中，好像陇沟的水”（箴言 21:1）。
我们被告知要无条件地为他们祷告（提摩太前书 2:1-2）——而保罗是在尼禄统治下写下这些话的。
