概要
- Scripture records no dream about a president and gives no meaning to one. There were no presidents in the ancient world.
- It interprets two rulers’ dreams — Pharaoh’s and Nebuchadnezzar’s — and in both God speaks to the ruler about his own reign, through a prisoner. It never interprets a subject’s dream about a ruler.
- Rulers are under God: “He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others” (Daniel 2:21), and “In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water” (Proverbs 21:1).
- We are told to pray for them without qualification (1 Timothy 2:1-2) — and Paul wrote that under Nero.
- Prayer is not endorsement. Nathan prayed for David and then told him “you are the man.”
