  • 聖書にはシンディという名前の人物は登場せず、この名前にヘブライ語の形式や意味はありません。
  • シンディは、アルテミスのギリシャ語の称号である「キントス山の女性」を意味するシンシア、あるいはルシアとラテン語から作られたルシンダの短縮形として始まりました。 lux, 「光」に由来します。
  • フランス司教協議会のウェブサイト「Nominis」では、シンディをシンデレラの短縮形として扱っています。
