概要

  • エティエンヌは聖書に登場します。これはステパノのフランス語形で、ギリシャ語に由来します stephanos — 王の冠ではなく、勝利者に与えられる編まれた冠のことです。
  • ステパノは最初、未亡人への日々の食料配分を監督するために任命された7人の管理者の1人として登場します（使徒行伝6:5）。しかし、彼が記憶されているのはその役割のためではありません。
