21 Pornography Prayer Points With Scriptures, and Where to Get Help

  • Twenty-one prayers against pornography: one to break its hold, nineteen short prayer points each paired with a King James verse, and the 1928 Book of Common Prayer collect “Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts.”
  • The prayer points cover the moment of temptation (Matthew 26:41, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Job 31:1), the hour after a fall (1 John 1:9, Romans 8:1, James 5:16) and a long habit (2 Corinthians 10:4–5, Romans 12:2, Ezekiel 36:26).
  • Separate prayers cover a husband or wife who uses pornography, a spouse who has found out, a child who has seen it and a friend who has confessed it.
  • Help beyond prayer: a pastor or trusted friend, filters and accountability, a licensed therapist, and Christian recovery groups such as Celebrate Recovery and Pure Desire Ministries.
