22 Bible Verses About Morning

  • Psalm 5:3, Psalm 119:147 and Mark 1:35 each place prayer early in the day, and Jesus rose “while it was still dark” after an evening of healing the crowd at the door.
  • Lamentations 3:22-23 says the Lord’s compassions “are new every morning”, spoken just after the poet says his soul is downcast.
  • In Exodus 16 manna was gathered each morning and went bad if kept overnight, except for the portion kept for the Sabbath.
  • In Hosea 6:3 the people say God will appear “as surely as the sun rises”, and God answers in Hosea 6:4 that their love is “like the morning mist”.
  • Matthew 28:1 brings the women to the empty tomb at dawn on the first day of the week.
