  • Short closing prayers cover a church meeting after decisions, a divided meeting, deacons or elders, a finance committee, a small group, an outreach planning meeting, a worship service and a late night.
  • Three collects from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer (p. 49) suit the end of a meeting: for peace and unity, after the group’s prayers, and after a teaching.
  • The Catholic prayer Actiones nostras, printed in the 1888 Manual of Prayers, asks that every work “through Thee be brought to an end.”
  • Many groups close with the Grace from 2 Corinthians 13:14, which the Book of Common Prayer gives as “be with us all evermore,” or with the Lord’s Prayer.
