Summary
- A white coat is a modern object and Scripture says nothing about it. What Scripture has is white clothing, chiefly in Revelation.
- Revelation 7:14 has robes washed white in blood — a deliberately impossible image, built to make the reader stop.
- The white is always given, bought or washed, never original. That is the consistent part across Revelation 3:5, 3:18 and 7:14.
- Mark 9:3 describes the transfiguration by conceding it cannot: whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them.
- Isaiah 1:18 uses two dye words — fast dyes that did not wash out — so the promise is that a stain which by definition stays is going to go.
