Dreaming About Red Cars: The Bible Gives It No Meaning

  • Scripture records no dream of a car and gives no meaning to one. No colour carries a fixed meaning either.
  • Where colours appear in visions — Zechariah’s horses, Revelation’s riders — the text supplies the interpretation or leaves it alone. It never expects us to decode one.
  • The chariot was the ancient equivalent: the most expensive thing a person could own, fast and loud, announcing arrival before the owner was visible.
  • Psalm 20:7 cuts through it: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” The issue is trust, not the chariot.
  • Elisha, surrounded, prayed not for rescue but “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see” — and the servant saw the hills full of chariots of fire (2 Kings 6:17).

Scripture records no dream of a red car, and gives no meaning to one. There were no cars, and the Bible offers no rule for reading a modern object into a night image.
