    耶稣出生于奥古斯都41年的3月1日（罗马纪年748年），“当记录时间的历法停止时”，因为取消了第一个闰日（历法改革）。总共取消了5个闰日。
    路加福音将耶稣的出生定在三年后的4月1日，这也是亚历山大纪年的309年，即公元前4-3年的阴阳历，但计算是错误的。
    路加福音将耶稣的出生置于错误的时间，即犹太国王希律王（希律大帝之子）统治时期。它以一个虚拟的星期六开始，定于公元前4年6月9日。6月10日，撒迦利亚发现伊丽莎白对他隐瞒了5个月的怀孕（并没有隐瞒5个月的怀孕，这是对希腊语不定过去式动词的错误翻译，就像拉丁语完成时一样）。从6月10日算起，只剩下10个希伯来月，即295天，从而得出了4月1日这个错误的出生日期。
