The Bible forbids adultery outright and treats it as a wrong against God and against a neighbor. “You shall not commit adultery” is one of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:14), Leviticus 20:10 makes it a capital crime, Proverbs 5 and 6 warn against it, and Jesus carries the command inward to lustful looking (Matthew 5:27-28).
