Summary
- A pastor appreciation prayer thanks God for your pastor’s preaching, care and years of work, and asks God to bless the pastor and the pastor’s family.
- The New Testament asks churches to honour those who lead them: “Remember them which have the rule over you” (Hebrews 13:7), with 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 and 1 Timothy 5:17.
- Pastor Appreciation Month was named by Focus on the Family, which began promoting it in 1994 and suggested October, or the second weekend of the month for churches that wanted a single weekend.
