- اسم أنجيلا غير مذكور في الكتاب المقدس، لكن له أهمية روحية في التقليد المسيحي، وهو مشتق من الكلمة اليونانية "angelos"، والتي تعني "رسول" أو "ملاك".
- تجسد أنجيلا دور الرسول الإلهي، مما يشجع على صفات مثل النقاء والاستعداد للخدمة، تماماً مثل الملائكة في الكتاب المقدس.
- لأنجيلا أصول يونانية من "ἄγγελος" (angelos) وتترجم من العبرية "מַלְאָךְ" (mal’akh)، وكلاهما يعني "رسول" أو "ملاك".
