  • Genesi 2:24 fonda il matrimonio nella creazione; Gesù lo cita in Marco 10:7-8 e Paolo in Efesini 5:31.
  • Efesini 5:25 misura l'amore del marito attraverso Cristo, che “ha dato se stesso” per la chiesa, e Colossesi 3:19 aggiunge “non siate aspri con loro”.
  • 1 Corinzi 7:3-4 conferisce a marito e moglie un'autorità reciproca sul corpo dell'altro.
