概要

  • 平和を意味する旧約聖書の言葉、 シャローム（平安）, は、平和だけでなく、完全さ、健全さ、福祉をも意味します。
  • ローマ人への手紙5章1節とコロサイ人への手紙1章20節は、パウロが敵（ローマ5:10）や疎遠な者（コロサイ1:21）と呼ぶ人々のために、キリストの死によってもたらされた神との平和について述べています。
  • イザヤ書26章3節の「完全な平和」は、ヘブライ語の シャローム（平安） が二度繰り返されたものです。
  • ヨハネによる福音書16章33節で、イエスは弟子たちに対し、自分の中にある平和と、世の中にある苦難を同じ文の中で約束しています。
  • ローマ人への手紙12章18節は、平和に生きるという命令を「可能であれば、あなた方次第で」という言葉で制限しています。
